1samuel 7:3-4
And Samuel said to the whole house of Israel, "If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." So the Israelites out away their Baals and Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only.
If you are for God, get of all the evils in your life. Worldly views and ways of living, unwholesome talk, etc. Commit yourself and submit to Jesus and he will deliver you from those who are against you and do bad things to you. There's someone who can help me get rid of the ugly things in life--someone who can speed up the process? What?! OMG! O Magnificent, Marvelous, Majestic God! I'm down for that. Fosho.
