Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God
This verse literally JUST changed its meaning for me. As you know, 17 year old Gerald Williams died Wednesday night of cardiac arrest. He was a great example of a Christian attitude, had an infectious positive attitude and was a great friend to many. He will be greatly missed... The memories will never leave those of us who knew him and he is now with his Creator. They say people know when their time on this earth is fading. Maybe that's true; maybe it isn't. But Gerald became still and he sure knew God.
Continued prayer for Gerald's family and my younger cousin Tristan. Thanks! Do any of you have prayer requests?

God is ALWAYS there for us, fighting every step of the way. When we don't cooperate with Him, that means He has to fight even more for us. Because God loves us so much He disciplines us. God has structure. He doesn't want us running around full of chaos that will end up ruining our lives. God wants the best for us; which means doing things HIS way on HIS time. At the beginning, the middle and in the end, God will never leave us. He has our back 100% of the time, 24/7.

A question is my bible asks how a person can meditate on God's word. Here's the answer it gives: Meditation is a combination of reviewing, repeating, reflecting, thinking, analyzing, feeling and even enjoying. It is a physical, intellectual and emotional activity--it involves our whole being.
So be still. Quiet. Chill out and just listen and think about what God's telling you and what you've been learning from Him.

The Wemmicks were small wooden people. All of the wooden people were carved by a woodworker named Eli. His workshop sat on a hill overlooking their village. Each Wemmick was different. Some had big noses, others had large eyes. Some were tall and others were short. Some wore hats, others wore coats. But all were made by the same carver and all lived in the village. All day, every day, the Wemmicks did the same thing: They gave each other stickers. Each Wemmick had a box of golden star stickers and a box of gray dot stickers. When i was a little kid my parents told me that God was bigger than anything/everything. so in my mind i thought that God was taller than every single building on earth. I also imagined that in heaven God would give me everything I wanted: a comfortable bed, tv, toys, junk food galore. i also thought that He wore a tux all the time, haha. point is, my parents told me God's bigger than it all. He gives you the desires of heart. and you're living for God then HIS desires become YOURS. Another thing i thought was that God smiled all the time. Well, even when we mess up, He smiles when we ask for His help and get back on track.

A father spent all day making a pie for his son, whome he loved greatly. He cut the pie into 24 slices. When the boy got hom he was presented with the pie his father spent all day making. The father asked for one of the slices, and the son got angry and greety and said no. The father was deeply hurt that his son couldn't even give him one slice out of 24. Such it is with God. He gives us 24 hrs a day, we can't give God one of those hrs back? Yeah, our lives are busy, so maybe we can't give an hours every day. But what about something as small as five minutes? Ten?Think about it.

a young girl came home one day and asked her parents if she could have a pet snake. they said no. having a pet is a big responsibility. she promised that she would take care of all its needs and she would show them how responsible she is. finally her parents gave in and said yes. every day the girl came from school and took care of her new pet. she gave it food and water and made sure her snake was happy and healthy. she loved her snake and was very fond of it. one day the snake wasn't acting like its usual self so the girl took it to see the vet. after examining the snake, the vet sat down with the girl. "your snake is getting more and more dangerous," the vet said. the girl asked what she should do. "you need to kill the snake. your life is in danger." her eyes filled with tears. she loved the snake so much, but her life was at high risk. she went home and completed the task even though it hurt her to have to do so. same with us. just because we love something, it's not always good for us. kill off that temptation before it swallows you whole.

yesterday i went to the dentist. i was getting a cavity filled. i wasnt quite numb the first time. so i felt a sharp pain as the dentisit started working on my tooth. he stopped when i winced and gave me another shot to numb me up more. the second time it worked and he went about doing his work. i watched as a bunch of stuff went into my mouth and tried to figure out what it was and what its job was. but i didnt need to know the details because i knew the dentist knew what he was doing. same with God. we might feel the pain even after giving a situation to him, and he may need to shield us more, but that doesnt mean crap wont happen. we're aware of what's generally going on, but not all of the details are told to us. we dont need to know them because God knows what he's doing. it may take more than once to not be effected by the bad things that happen in life. but that's why we raise our hand and say, "ow, i felt that." crazy analogy, i know, but hey.. Lord works in mysterious ways!

The Gossiper

A woman repeated a bit of gossip about a neighbor. Within a few days the whole community knew the story. The person it concerned was deeply hurt and offended. Later, the woman responsible for spreading the rumor learned that it was completely untrue. She was very sorry and went to a wise old sage to find out what she could do to repair the damage.

"Go to the marketplace." he said, "and purchase a chicken, and have it killed. Then on your way home, pluck its feathers and drop them one by one along the road." although surprised but this advice, the woman did what she was told.

The next day the wise man said, "Now, go and collect all those feathers you dropped yesterday and bring them back to me."

The woman followed the same road, but to her dismay the wind had blown all the feathers away. After searching for hours, she returned with only three in her hand.

some poeple may take this verse and think "well, nothing's impossible with God, therefore i can do whatever I want." to me, the key word in the verse is 'through'. i can do everything THROUGH him who gives me strength. if you do something THROUGH Jeus or THROUGH God, it means you're doing his will. so i can do everything in GOD'S will, no matter how big, small, hard or easy THROUGH the help and guidence of our Lord and Savior; which in turn becomes what we want to do as well.

wide path to destruction or narrow path to righteousness? it's your choice. id rather be someplace where i dont get trampeled and walked all over. maybe thats just me. there's a whole lot of bad stuff to be dealt with in this world and i certainly dont want any part of it. john 3:17 for God did not send his Son into the world to comdemn the world, but to save the world through him.

want to feel good about the person you see in the mirror? if so, here's a simple tip: don't betray your conscience. it is said that character is what we are when nobody is watching. how true. when we do things that we know aren't right, we try to hide themfrom our families and friends. but even then, God is watching. few things in life torment us more than a guilty conscince. and, few things in life provide more contentment then the knowledge that we are obeying the conscience that God has places in our earts. if you sincerely want to create the best possible life for yourselfand your loved ones, never forsake your conscience. and remember this: when you walk with God, your character will take care of itself...and you wont need to look over your shoulder to see who, besides God, is watching.

you can't work your way into heaven by doing all these good deeds and having a "good life". those things are nice, but where's the God-part? if you don't live your life for God and follow what He tells you--what the Bible commands--you won't get past those golden gates[no folks, not McDonald's].the only way you have a chance of getting into that Promised Land is because Jesus is that bridge built to get you across. get closer to the bridge. walk on it. talk with it. walk with it. get to know it like your life depended on it. oh yeah, your life DOES depend on it.

Happy 4th of July!!! Our country got its independence in 1776. People do whatever they can to come here for a better life and more opportunities. You got your independence when Christ died on the cross. u should be doing whatever you can for a better life and more opportunities: have faith, believe in Jesus Christ, follow what the bible commands us to do and LOVE. Forgiving is good too.

Jesus is our shield, our protector. He saves us from the devil. When we get knocked down, Christ picks us up again. Sometimes we have to let go of things that keep us away from God, in order to be protected and saved. We have our part to play too.

Even if you have the same profession as someone else there are still unique things about you that God uses. So don't compare yourelf to others because we arent the same and aren't meant to be. Just give it all to him and he will help you through the crap in your life. People say that God won't give you anything you can't handle. But he DOES give you things you can't handle so that you can come closer to Him and He can help you! Kids ask questions all the time. They explore, they wonder, they tell you what's on their mind. They ask for help when they know they need it. They talk about the things that happen in their lives, whether it's good or bad. They expect their parents to feed them and keep them safe. They also help out around the house. At first it may not be their choice and they do it because they feel obligated. Eventually it won't feel like a chore. It'll be out of love and consideration. God wants us to have a childlike faith. Mark 10:15 says: "I tell you the truth, anyone who will not recieve the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

Wide is the worldly path, narrow the one to righteousness. I don't know about you, but I like a challenge. I like having to put up a good fight and work hard toward something I want. Who wants to follow the crowd and go where it's trampeled, used and gross? Texting is similar to our walk with God. We want to hear something from Him, but oftentimes we want to hear it the shortest way possible. With some phones, the more charcters you use the more you gotta pay, right? We don't want to deal with the cost. Being a Christ follower comes with a cost. For us the cost is preapid. When things are prepaid you don't have to worry about it. Jesus prepaid the cost for US; we don't have to worry about it. Give it all to God and he will take care of you!

People oftentimes want to change their circumstances. They complain because things aren't the way they'd like them to be. Everyone falls short from time to time--but we have an Awesome and Powerful God who brings light and joy and happiness into our lives. Don't complain about your faults and flaws because God uses them to shape us into a wonderful child of Him and we can learn from the not-so-good-things in our lives.
