"It's funny how it takes a holiday
To show us how the world could truly change
If we all took the time to really care
There'd be a little more of heaven everywhere
It's the grace that we need to show a world that needs hope
It's giving our lives knowing they're not our own
It's the joy that we feel and the love that we share
There's a bit of heaven everywhere
There's a bit of heaven everywhere
It's the smile on a man who has finaly found hope
It's the tears of a mother whose child has come home
It's the joy that we feel and the love that we share
There's a little bit of heaven everywhere
There's a little bit of heaven everywhere"

"With upwards of ten hours a day spent on the water (canoeing), I came to realize my own strength, or rather, lack thereof. No matter how hard I pulled or how fast I paddled, the current was was larger determinate of my path and arrival time then my own might. It wasn't until I finally learned to join the current did I come to see the river as a source of strength and renewal. The water became something to rely on. Through the routine of our days we came to praise our God who carried us--the tired, the restless, the expectant and the homebound."

Everything works on God-time. We make it harder for ourselves each time we stay away from God for whatever reason, for however long. Let go. Let God. Let God renew you, restore you, heal you, love you, care for you. He is more than capable of doing so. Stop working and go to God. You don't have to prove yourself to God. What is there to prove, really? The more you try to prove yourself, the more you're showing how much you fall apart with Him--which, I'm guessing, is the opposite of what you're trying to show. Yes, God sees your mess. Do yourself a favor and stop making your situations worse. Go to God for help. He won't disappoint. Maybe you're thinking God is taking too long to "fix" you. Well, God is not the problem; He isn't slowing Himself down. You are the problem. You're the one slowing down the process. Hmmm. It's give and take. Give yourself to God so He can take your impurities and make you up to your wonderful, godly, amazing full potential.
